Client: Goodlife Superthrift is a fast-growing thrift store that sets itself apart from other discount stores by looking more like a regular store and less like a thrift store.

Challenge: Write the script for an online video commercial which pans over individual sections of a very large store. As a thrift store can sometimes carry a negative connotation, it is important to mention the store’s cleanliness and boutique style inventory. 

Solution: I began by calling the store a “unique marketplace” in order to set it apart from other thrift stores in the area. This description can appeal to a wider audience such as those interested in one-of-a-kind merchandise or vintage pieces. Though the video shows nothing more than the different areas of the store, I chose to describe the consumer benefit available in each section. When describing the clothing areas, I detailed the store’s variety and organization. When describing the store’s furniture section, I included information about the store’s easy, same-day delivery. I made sure to mention affordability in a tactful way and to describe how easy it is to find the store. The CTA at the end of the script is inviting and uses the word “treasures” to elicit curiosity and a bit of excitement.
