Client: Artisan Connections is a newer e-commerce business hoping to increase sales. 

Challenge: The company wants to expand its client base but has a niche target audience. Prior  to creating email funnels, the first step was to rewrite the website copy, beginning with the About page.   

Solution: In order to immediately give value to the text, I led with a simple explanation on what the business is, why it was created, and what its goals are. For the fair-trade enthusiast, this information is key and leaves no confusion as to the type of business they’ve encountered. The details are then explained using real-life examples that evoke emotion and desire to support the cause. The end talks about the company’s commitment to fair trade—an important piece of information for the target audience and concludes with text that details the business’s devotion to customer satisfaction. With many e-commerce sites all over the world, this information is crucial and will foster trust from prospective clients.

Copy: Artisan Connections is a family owned business that was created to bring value to artisans from around the world. The goal of Artisan Connections is to support fair trade by connecting everyday consumers with culturally diverse artisans who otherwise wouldn't have the chance to connect with outside customers.

Most of the handcrafts we sell come from artisans in poverty stricken areas in places like Ghana, Peru, China, and beyond. Many have limited access to even basic resources such as food and running water. Technology and the internet are not accessible to many of these artists, leaving them at a disadvantage when it comes to selling their goods.

When you purchase from  Artisan Connections, not only are you buying high quality, handmade pieces, you are supporting marginalized communities and helping an individual buy food for their family or send their child to school. Fair trade organizations return sixty to seventy percent of sales directly to the artisans and will often pay them in advance. This helps the artist purchase supplies and gives them the chance to offer made-to-order designs.
